The Giver-The Idea of the Sacred Child

Since the day they're born, they're watched all the way until age 12. As the child grows and

becomes older, they are known by they're age. Once the child ages past 12, they're age is then

forgotten and life goes on. Its as if there is a way of sacredness in the child. On certain birth dates

they get certain gifts, then they're all taken away after 12 and are put on the adult stage. What

happens to the human that we have to forget they're age after 12?

  1. I definitely get where you are going with this. I feel for them that they don't have a long childhood like most kids. However, what if they were rewarded with ceremonies and gifts every year to appreciate the little bit of childhood that they are going to have?
