A Spell For Chameleon (Book Review)

Piers Anthony's novel "A Spell For Chameleon" is a fantasy based book set in the country-side of Florida in a magical place called Xanth. The publisher of this novel is Ballantine and Del Rey books. Piers was born in 1934 in England and came to America in 1940. He created his Xanth world in 1977 where his first book "A Spell For Chameleon" won a fantasy award. He also has a wife and two daughters. In the 70's he went from writing all his books in pencils to typing his papers.
During the midst of the book, there are a couple magical fights and  interesting characters that someone could never dream of making up. Let's also just say that the main character finds a spell unlike any other of the characters has or ever will have.
The main character of the book is a kid named Bink. Bink is special unlike every other kids because Brink was born without magic or a spell. He lives in the North Village Xanth and a rule of the North Village is that if you don't have magic or can't find magic, you'll be exiled from the village forever. Other characters of the book are Bink's dream girl Sabrina who hopefully can marry some day. His parents names are Roland and Bianca. And one of the head advice characters for Bink is the Good Magician Humphrey. Humphrey is like the wise man of the village. The only problem is that people in the village can only seek advice from Humphrey once a year. And Bink decides to use up that offer and get advice and that's where the adventure starts. One thing that the author gives a hint about the theme is that even though your'e not like everyone else, you don't have to be. Just be yourself and be different.
My opinion of the book was that it had a lot of mystical suspense but also many confusing moments. The book just included so many weird and confusing words and unusual situations that I couldn't piece together.
The first quote was on page 11 and it said " So the truth came out  in this moment of crisis. She didn't really believe he had a talent. "Ive got muscle, though!" he yelled back." It explains the phenomena of how Bink has muscle but no magic, and he can use his muscles instead. And the 2nd quote is on page 15 " Night transformers Xanth. Regions like this one that were innocent by day became horrors as the sun sneaked down." This quote talks about the dangers that live in Xanth and night and how powerful some creatures may be that could hurt Bink.
A good text to world is in the book the setting is based in Xanth which is actually in Florida, where the authors lives. This book is similar to the book Inkheart where the books comes alive with all these mystical creatures and mysterious adventures in it. This book didn't really impact me on a personal level because it was a fantasy book based on a kid trying to find his magic and I have no idea how it can affect me.

The Aspects of Fitness

The goal in my life is to become the most fit person I can be both mentally and physically. Fitness to me isn't just a random trip to the gym every other day to just get a sweat on and feel a little pump. Fitness is more of type of lifestyle. There are some people in the world who love cooking, they think that cooking is the best thing a person can do. The way you can mash together some interesting ingredients, bake it, then come out with this delicious masterpiece is just enlightenment for them. But for me its the feeling of being strong both physically and mentally and that is what fitness can do for. It brings to my table what cooking can bring to an avid chef's table.
A person wakes up in the morning and gets their coffee, then eats their soggy waffles or cereal, then  probably gets on their way to wherever they are going for the day wether it is work or school. When I wake up, its non-stop thinking about what i'm going to eat today, what time am I going to workout, what am I going to workout today, making sure to get all of my meals in, and drinking plenty of water. As you can see my day consists of many things related to fitness. This aspect of my life is so huge that I can not go a day with out it. My mentality for fitness drives me to the gym each and every day to be better than I was the day before. When I step foot into the gym or even into a baseball game (because that still ties in with fitness), its time for beast mode to kick in. {Beast Mode- to be in the state of mind that you feel like an animal. You feel strong and agile and ready to dominate anything in your way.} And nothing can stop me once I hit that stage. No One.
Everyone thinks that when talking about fitness, that they have to tie in with the word FIT. Not everyone that does fitness is necessarily fit. For example look at all those overweight people on The Biggest Loser. Not one of those people on that show besides the trainers are fit. But you know what they are doing, is starting a new life around fitness. They have decided to get their fat selves up and do something about it by burning some calories and lifting some weights. So just some motivation for all people out there wanting but having too many excuses to go out there and workout and have fitness become a part of your life, suck it up. Stop being a little baby and go get a good sweat on, lift some heavy weights, eat healthy, and get active. Stop watching your television and eating your potato chips, and laughing at those who are training and sweating and looking funny doing it. Hey, they'll be a 1000 steps farther tomorrow then you will ever be in your entire life with they way your going right now.   'When life sucks, you got to go work'
